Depeche Mode

Artist Info

Unknown-3Depeche Mode were the quintessential Eighties techno-pop band, parlaying a fascination with synthesizers into huge success on the British charts (where its albums consistently went Top 10) and eventually on the U.S. pop chart.

The group that eventually became Depeche Mode began when Vince Clarke first teamed with Andy Fletcher in 1976. After several name changes and pulling in guitarist/keyboardist Martin Gore and vocalist Dave Gahan, the name Depeche Mode was finally adopted in 1980 for the four person group.
Unknown-2The band ignored conventional instruments in favor of an all-synthesizer approach similar to other British New Wave bands of the early 1980’s such as Human League and Soft Cell.

Depeche Mode are now, by far, the world’s most popular electronic based bands. The legacy grows each year and their fan base builds — Depeche Mode have sealed their place in music history. Depeche Mode tours internationally through 2017 and 2018.
